THE SGA ANNUAL CONFERENCE & AGM HAS BEEN SET FOR SATURDAY, MAY 26TH 2012.

Speakers include Marcus Orlovsky, Bryanston Square Consulting - established to help transform the learning environment, Sarah Ray from the National College who will talk about National Leaders of Governance. P-J Wilkinson, Surrey's Deputy Director for Schools and Learning and Principal Secondary Consultant, Ian Wilson.

The 2011 SGA/4S Conference, Saturday November 19th., Cobham Hilton Hotel.

Over 160 delegates attended our joint conference which included aview of the New Education & Childrens Services Landscape as it is now and as envisaged for Surrey schools by Nick Wilson, Strategic Director for Children, Schools and Families.

Steve Barker, Babcock 4S, briefed governors on the changes to the Ofsted Framework, Simon Morris, Headteacher of Esher C of E High School outlined the Role of a Teaching school, Sue Sayers, National Leader of Education and Headteacher of Barnsbury Primary School shared her experiences as a Local Leader of Education (LLE) and Ian Wilson, Principal Secondary Consultant, briefed governors on the new role of the School Improvement Adviser (SIA).

SGA Newsletter

The Spring SGA Newsletter, with a feedback questionnare is being distributed now (March). A screen-user-friendly version is also available for download from this site - see News and Newsletters!

Surrey Schools Forum -  School Governor representatives still needed

A School Governors is still needed to represent the Secondary sector on the Surrey Schools Forum.

We have two substitute members for Secondary Schools who are currently filling in for the position but a full delegate is still required. A statutory body, the Schools Forum has specific decision-making powers in relation to schools’ formula funding and other finance matters. See full details in our News pages.
